REQUEST FOR MCYSA VOLUNTEER COACHES and ASSISTANT REFEREES COACHES
During the Spring 2012 registration period, if anyone would be willing to volunteer in any aspect of coaching, please provide the following information to the MCYSA Board via e-mail by February 27, 2012.
- Adult or Minor: (A / M)
- Position:(Coach, Assistant Coach, *Coordinator*, Referee)
- U-Level that you would like to participate: (U-5 thru U-14)
- Contact information: (Phone# & E-mail address)
- Primary location: (Fairmont, Mannington, Fairview, etc.)
- Past experience: (coach, player, coaching license level)
There is a Mandatory on-line form that all volunteers MUST fill out to participate with any US Youth Soccer Organization titled "Risk Management Form". There will be a link to it on our website very soon.
Note: *Coordinator* role is to organize & schedule games in his/ her respective U-Level. Position requires active involvement with the League, coaches and referees.
Please note that experience is not mandatory. MCYSA has grown at a very high rate and our intent is to ensure that we can provide as many opportunities as possible for the youth in our League to play soccer at various age levels. There will be a free membership provided to our coaches from soccerhelp.com which will have soccer training information. MCYSA is also looking into opportunities to provide in-house coaching clinics at our complex. There are also State & National Level courses provided throughout the year by WVSA and USSF. Entry level "E" License dates are currently posted on our site.
ASSISTANT REFEREES (LINE JUDGES):
MCYSA is also in MUCH need of volunteer assistant referees for the Spring 2012 season. The responsibility of the assistant referee will be to support the Center Referee with "out-of play" and "offside" calls only. If MCYSA has enough volunteers, we will provide a short daytime referee clinic (for free) before the beginning of the season. MCYSA will provide a "Referee Handbook" to all volunteers that participate in the clinic. This is a great opportunity to prepare for an official entry-level referee certification through WVSA/ USSF.
Volunteer assistants are not paid, however, once State certified; referees are paid for their participation by MCYSA.
Thank you in advance for volunteering and supporting Youth Soccer.
