ACADEMY Girls-- Off this weekend -- Oct 28th scheduled for two games
U10 Girls-- Homecoming for the girls and a better performance this week overall. coach Patrick stated " I felt that the U10 girls’ team played a lot better than what the final score of the game revealed, there were just a few simple mistakes in front of the goal that ended up leading to goals. There were also moments of great soccer,(one and two touch passing, through balls, crosses, and great saves). Overall I was very impressed with the progress the team is making and can’t wait to keep working with the team. Final score 3 to 0 to the Visitors.
u10 Boys-- The Boys played a very athletic and sizeable competitor today and had a very good performance. coach Raul stated " We were off to a great start 2 to 0 within the first 10 minutes and after a unlucky penalty call we found ourselves 2 to 1. From that point on we showed good shape and positioning on the field but just could not hold onto the lead." The boys lost 4 to 2. coach Bambo stated "Our best sign of improvement yet. We played some very good football both offensively and defensively.
u11 Girls-- Continuing their unbeaten streak, this time with a player down the girls showed up with only 7 players when you need 8 to complete the lineup. Coach Betheny stated "The girls consistently gave 110% the entire game and played with exemplary sportsmanship. Coach Raul having been watching on the sideline stated "Consistency and chemistry has been the key for this team thus far, another great performance." result 6-1 MFC
u12 Girls-- With a record of 1-0-1 the girls were to be tested today facing an undefeated team on the road. A solid performance overall once again reaching its high point in the second half. coach Tim stated " A slow start going into the half down 1 to zero. But the girls showed their passion and that they knew how to play as we came back and scored two goals in second half to win the game". MFC 2 to 1
u12 Boys-- An emotional game for the boys as the Weirton boys stuck around and did not make it easy for us. coach Raul stated" Our explosive style backed up by a stellar defensive/goalkeeper performance made the difference today". A real TEAM win today MFC 3 to 1
u14 Girls-- Always exciting when you get your first points of the season. A well rounded performance the girls rightfully earned a 1 to 1 tie. Team parent and MFC fan Paula Clelland stated " It has been a few weeks since I have seen the team play and what an improvement."
