Hello Parents,
On 4/22/2020, WVSA (West Virginia Soccer Association) informed all of the soccer clubs across WV that their “Start Back" date for the 2020 Spring Season would be moved to May 15th at the earliest. Obviously, this season has been one that is both unique and unprecedented. With that said, our organization has been following both the general council of USYS and WVSA, as well as maintaining a close watch on recommendations and mandates by both local and state leaders. Following the most recent WVSA and USYS announcements the MCSC Board had a discussion and with a heavy heart, the decision was made to cancel the 2020 Spring Season. This was a difficult decision for the board but with the uncertainty of the current COVID-19 situation, we believe that this is best because the safety of the children and their families is most important.
As much as we love the kids and this awesome game, we felt it necessary to delay our resumption of soccer until the “powers that be” advise that it is safe to do so. As soon as life returns to “normal” we will explore opportunities to have some soccer related activities for the kids over the summer. Until then we highly encourage everyone to take advantage of the Virtual Spring Soccer Season that we purchased for all of our members. It is available via the TopYa app. Instructions about TopYa were emailed to each of you a couple of weeks ago. Many of you are already taking advantage of this Virtual Season and the feedback has been great!
Cancellation creates a whole new challenge as to how to get registration fees back in the hands of our families. Ideally and historically, we would use our credit card processing software to provide refunds. Unfortunately, due to the duration of time that has passed since the original transaction, that is not an option available to us. At this time, our only option is to manually process refunds via paper check for each family.
MCSC is offering full refunds for the Spring Registration Fee and Challenger Clinics (if applicable). Here is how the refund process will work:

- If you would like to request a refund check, please go to the link below (also on our website) and complete the request form. This is necessary to insure that we have your most current personal information and to assist us in tracking all of the member refunds that are issued.
- We are asking that families complete this process by May 15th, 2020 so that we can provide refunds in a timely manner.
- As we all know, this is an unprecedented event, and we're all learning as we go. This is a tough time for everyone and as a non-profit community program, we would welcome your help to get through this. If you would like to donate the money you have already paid to our organization, that contribution would be VERY helpful to your child’s club. MCSC had expenses that were attributable to this cancelled season, we have ongoing obligations/expenses, and are working to continue improvements at your child’s soccer facilities. Also, we are an IRS approved non-profit, and that contribution would be tax deductible. To provide this help and make this donation, simply do not complete the refund request form and we will retain your money as a generous donation.
