Travel Soccer
MCSC Travel Soccer is a travel soccer division in Marion County. Travel Soccer is a competitive program in which MCSC sponsors teams both in the fall and spring. The goal is to provide youth soccer players an opportunity to acquire advanced soccer training and development. MCSC Travel teams play other travel clubs throughout the state of West Virginia and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
How is travel different?
Recreation is open to all players at all skill levels. Recreation offers coaching from dedicated volunteer coaches, so training techniques and experience vary widely from coach to coach. Travel soccer by nature, because the team is a result of a player evaluation and because parents have a financial investment, tends to attract a different level of commitment from the parents and players. In addition, the players are trained by a paid professional coaching staff. Practices are conducted using demonstrated training techniques, and there is significant emphasis on ball handling skills, soccer fundamentals, and tactical skills.
Practices and Games
Practices
Practice locations will vary based upon the team and coach. Current location for MCSC Travel is Windmill Park with other locations potentially being added at a later date. Professional coaches will run each practice session and the duration of each practice may range from one to three hours.
Games
Games will consist of regular season matches, friendlies, and tournaments. Home games will be played at the Marion County Soccer Complex or in a surrounding county venue. Teams will participate in the Shawnee League: 8 games on 4 weekends; 2 - 4 friendlies; and 1 - 2 tournaments.

Cost
We will be 100% transparent with all costs incurred by our program. MCSC’s goal is to keep the combined total of the cost below $400 for the season excluding uniform costs, tournament fees, guest player fees*, and your personal travel costs. Once evaluation results are in, rosters are set, and commitments are made, a detailed breakdown of where your money is going will be provided.
* Priority will be to create MCSC teams. If enough players are not available, then MCSC will engage Empire and identify opportunities for form teams. Players will be allowed to guest players on all occasions, except when MCSC is not able to find enough players to field a team. (ex. Team A needs min players, player X wants to guest play for another club. MCSC will work to identify a back fill, but will not approve guest play if the members of the MCSC are unable to play due to min numbers.) MCSC will encourage guest playing and player sharing in cases that benefit the players in the club.
Uniforms
Uniforms will consist of three kits (home, away, and alternate) and are able to be reused from season to season for all teams. Logo will be MCSC but colors will be shared Navy/White to enable uniform compatibility with affiliated clubs. The uniform cost will be $120. This is a one time cost prior to the start of the season and will be subtracted from the cost of consecutive season costs, unless a replacement set is needed.
